i’ve made a point not to feel regretful after having to abruptly abort my tour of europe. back in vancouver, there is so much new: places to go, people to meet, bicycles to ride and bridges to cross. they all maintain familiarity, after living in this city for two years i’ve learned to recognize certain patterns, faces, and bus routes. now, there’s a special newness in everything i do that easily translates back to the newness i found overseas, and compensates for the sadness i feel having had to give that up due to the illness that brought me back over the atlantic.
